Nutrients
of Worship (N.O.W.)
As God's
children, our worship should be lived out!
These
scriptures are much needed vitamins and nutrients to aid our healthy walk
with Christ. They provide strength, encouragement, conviction and
direction for our spiritual lives.

Acts
17:21 “For all the Athenians and strangers which were there
spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or hear some NEW THING”.
In Acts
17, we find Paul in Athens. He was saddened, moved in his spirit
as he saw all the idol worship in the city. He told some of the philosophers
about Jesus. They thought Paul spoke of a strange god and was just
a babbler, but they did invite him to speak at their forum at Mars Hill.
The Athenians didn’t have CNN or the Fox News Channel, but they were just
as anxious as we are today to hear new things.
Paul
stood boldly on Mars Hill, in their world, and told them the good news,
that “in God we live and move and have our being”. He told them of
the resurrection of Jesus. It would be nice to say the
whole crowd applauded him, accepted the doctrine of Jesus Christ, but it
didn’t exactly happen that way. Some sneered and mocked, but some
believed. In Acts 17: 33, two names are mentioned, specifically “Dionysius
the Areopagite and a woman named Damaris.”
Today
there is a whole world out there worshiping idols, waiting to hear some
new things, some good things. When we begin to do the “ New Thing”
that God is calling each one of us to, we may be mocked or sneered. We
may not be applauded. It will be well worth each of our efforts if
even one man or one woman will believe this new thing, this Jesus that
we must tell them of. Some day the one or two names of those who
believe you, the one or two names of those who believe me, and decide
to follow Jesus, will be read from the Book of Life.
