Nutrients
of Worship (N.O.W.)
As God's
children, our worship should be lived out!
These
scriptures are much needed vitamins and nutrients to aid our healthy walk
with Christ. They provide strength, encouragement, conviction and
direction for our spiritual lives.

I
Corinthians 3:16
"Know
ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwelleth
in you?"
Do you
ever get tired of cleaning house? As I sweep the same floor over
and over, as I make the same beds over and over, I sometimes ask myself,
“Didn’t I just do this yesterday and the day before and the day before?”
I don’t think anyone intentionally leaves a mess behind for me to clean.
The messes just have a way of sneaking back in everyday, even the very
same ones I cleaned the day before. If my kids ever come home and say thanks
for cleaning my room; I know all the cleaning was worth my time.
When
I am in the mood to do a really good job, I even vacuum under couch cushions.
I usually find some broken chips or sunflower seeds that children have
left behind. One day as I vacuumed up broken chips and sunflower seeds
I wondered, does God get as tired of cleaning house as I do? I thought
of the verse speaking of our bodies being temples of God, therefore I guess
we are His house and indeed He does have to clean us pretty often.
Psalm
51:12 Wash me throughly from mine inquity and cleanse me from my sin
When
God cleans up chipped or broken promises we have made to Him, he probably
says, “Didn’t I just clean these yesterday?” Our messes, our sins,
indeed, have a way of sneaking back into His temple everyday. God doesn’t
complain. He picks up little seeds that He has planted in us that we have
forgotten about. He waters them with His mighty love, they begin
to grow and bring forth new fruit. When this happens God probably
thinks that all the cleaning is well worth His time.
The next
time you clean your house, remember to thank God for cleaning His house,
cleansing you, and giving you a new life, a new heart, and a new spirit.
Let Him know that all His cleaning is well worth His time by allowing some
of the seeds planted in you long ago to bring forth some new fruit today.
