Good
Morning, Lord
Driving
to work the other morning I saw the sunrise. The next day it was
rainy and dark. Two days later it was sunny again. Today it
is muggy and sometimes ‘a sprinklin’. This is my life. And probably
yours.
Sometimes
dark, sometimes cloudy but it’s always a day. The same 24 hours. Not longer
or shorter. Oh, but it seems like it. Especially if you’ve been up all
night at the hospital or with a sick baby or just worrying…you know how
we can be.
I rush
into the day and get ready in a hurry and driving to work, I suddenly remember
I haven’t even said, “Good Morning Lord”. To visualize this I pictured
my husband sitting at the end of the bed and me rushing all around him
to get out the door. I go into the kitchen to grab a frozen dinner for
lunch and Jesus is just standing their silently leaning against the cabinet,
He leans over so I can open the pantry to get out a sack to carry my lunch.
I go through the laundry room to the garage and get in my car. As
I pass the washer and dryer, He’s sitting atop the washer watching me make
sure I have everything, my badge, my keys, my purse. Silence.
Then
I wrestle with my seatbelt and head off to a day. I flip on the radio
but something just doesn’t seem right. I turn it off and ride
in silence. In a few minutes my mind begins to wander to the goals I’ve
set for the day.
Then
I glance to the west and there it is. The morning sun. Sometimes it’s not
there but I still look. It reminds me of the verse in Psalm 90:14,
“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for
JOY and be glad all our days.”
Whether
the sun is there or not, I know my Lord is with me always. He loves me
so. He loves you so. Say good morning to Him as you prepare for your day,
say good morning as you prepare your lunch. Talk to the Lord as you come
and go. He’s always with you. He loves you so. He loves me so.
Remember,
His unfailing love satisfies and JOY comes in the morning!
I love
you,
Martha
