Parenting: What's the Most Important Thing? (by Don Couch)
This love compels us to want to share our lives with and be a part of the lives of the members of our family. This love compels us to encourage and support each other in all times and help in all circumstances. The house built on the rock stands firm because when the rains come down, the prayers go up. Rejoicing
on Father's Day (by Lisa Ingle)
My dad was a tall man
who walked with a limp as long as I can ever remember. He worked for
Coca Cola Company for many years repairing coke machines. When I was a
young girl he would come home late at night from work and I would crawl
up in his lap. He would put his arms around me and give me butterfly
kisses. I knew he loved me very much. (Click here for more)
Leftovers
or Feast? (by Cindy Price)
Standing in
front of the table, your eyes can’t believe the abundance of all this
wonderful food. You fill your plate until it’s heaping with all
of
your favorite foods. Eagerly, you grab your fork, scooping up a large
bite. Before you can put it in your mouth, a different voice
rings
out, “Wait a minute! STOP! HOLD IT!” (Click

Serendipity (by Karis Armstrong)
Has
anyone ever reached out to you … unexpectedly … perhaps even
undeservedly
… and lifted your spirits for a moment … or a lifetime? Have you
ever found a delightful surprise that’s just for you … but you have no
idea who gave it … or why? (Click

Me,
A Teacher? (by
Judy Parker)
My
mother never took me to
church, as a matter of fact; no one in my family went. When I was
eight years old, I got up on a Sunday morning and put on a frilly dress
that Mother bought for me. I put on black patton leather shoes
and
shined them with a biscuit. (Click

Tend
Your Garden (by Diana
Roth)
Regardless
of our capacity to minister, it is our responsibility to lovingly care
for those that God has put within our "garden." Is there an elderly
person
in your church or neighborhood who would give their right arm for 30
minutes
of meaningful conversation? Is there a family that you know whose
breadwinner has been given a pink slip and could benefit from a bag of
groceries or a $50 bill? (Click

A
True Princess (by Karis

I get
tickled sometimes when I think about network computers. You can
type
in “WHOAMI” and the computer will respond with its name. How
about
you? Do you know who you are? Seems like a silly question …
but lately, that’s exactly what I’ve been asking myself: WHO AM
I?

A
Soldier's Mission (by
Diana Roth)
Let me
share a personal example
of an incident that happened one sweltering day last summer. I
carpool
downtown each morning and then walk two blocks to my office.
While
walking in one day, I noticed a young woman sitting on a bench near my
office. Because there is a bus station across the street from
where
I work, it is not uncommon to see travelers hanging out on that corner.

Staying
in the Present (by
Jennifer Stein)
I have
many flaws, but one of my biggest is staying in the present. My
mind
constantly drifts and wanders. I find myself drifting often into
the future. All of these questions about the future, it’s
enough to drive anyone mad and it is not what God wants for us. (Click

End
of Road Work (by Judy
Parker)
Yesterday
when I drove into
my church parking lot I saw a new sign. It wasn’t a new marquee
type
sign with quirky little phrases making those who pass by take the time
to think about where they will be spending eternity. There wasn’t
a brand new shiny bus in the parking lot with a sign on the back saying
follow me to… That would have really been great, we need one. (Click

Count
Your Blessings (by
Karis Armstrong) (for Thanksgiving season)
I LOVE
the mountains … and I especially love the Rockies in the fall … the
aspens
turn the most beautiful colors … we used to take long drives or go
hiking
in the mountains on the weekends … There’s a holiday that I also love
in
the fall … the Thanksgiving holiday. It’s a time that we spend
with
our families … and we spend it eating! What a special … and
enormous
… meal! (Click

A
Thankful Thought (by Diana
Roth)
One
Sunday evening while driving
home from church, my husband explained that when Jesus lived on the
earth,
it cost a man a whole year’s wages to purchase a copy of the
scripture.
The few individuals who owned such a prize counted it as their most
precious
possession. That thought profoundly moved me. I am so
thankful
to be living in an age where practically anyone can own a personal copy
of the Bible. (Click
