Dear God, hold back these forces that are holding me down,
Because when I stand alone, I cannot stand my ground.
Battle this enemy, that’s defeating me,
As a soldier of truth, I am but yet a trainee.
Be my armour and shield in this battle with sin,
Remind me dear Lord, which side will win.
Christ, I know with you in my life that I will prevail,
No matter how much my foe may want me to fail.
Dear Lord, if they trap me, before they get me confused,
I pray to you now, that you’ll be my rescue.
God, I long to do better, leave behind all that’s wrong,
But I must lean on you cause I’m not yet that strong.
