"A
Nice Spring Walk"
written

(lower
case i)
Birds fly above, filling
the air with their song,
a creek flows beside
me,
as i walk alone.
The smell of wet grass
comes from under my feet
the taste in the air
this evening’s so
sweet.
i watch the sun setting,
it’s for this sight i came,
out to this place,
after the rain.
When i was younger,
i would come here to play.
Now when i come,
i kneel down and pray.
“Lord, thanks for
this life, and all it does bring,
thanks for this day,
in
this season of spring.
Lord, thanks for the
sunshine, the stars and the rain
thanks for the good
times, and help
through the pain.”
As the crickets and
tree frogs finish singing their songs
i climb off this rock
i must go toward home.
Although the pathway
back is not as bright,
i’m thankful at least
there’s a
full moon tonight.
He’s watched over and
kept me through this here day,
And He’ll watch over
me still,
While in bed i lay.
