Child of God
A Story of God's Love

I know a little girl who told of an occasion when another child made fun of her, telling her, “You don’t have any friends and no one likes you.”  This little girl bowed her head and thought about the words she had just heard, and then responded with the sweetest answer, saying, “It doesn’t matter if no one likes me, because I’m a child of God, and He loves me.”

There was a child of God born many years ago, a baby named Jesus.  The baby Jesus grew into a man and died for our sins, and on the third day, He rose from the dead!  Jesus provided a way for every person to also become a child of God, by asking Jesus into your heart.  You can read the stories about Jesus in the New Testament.

During the Christmas season, remember that you are a child of God and that He loves you.  No matter what others may say, no matter what you may think about yourself, you can know that you are a child of God, and He loves you – “For great is your love, O Lord, higher than the heavens, your faithfulness reaches to the skies.”  Psalm 108:4

Making Your Own "Child of God" Crown

Cut a 4 inch strip from a piece of white construction paper, cutting from one side to the other.  You'll have a pretty long strip, because it needs to fit around your head.

Using scissors, shape the top of  the 4 inch strip.  If you want a crown with points, cut shapes that look like W's.  Or you can cut wavy lines across the top of the 4 inch strip.

Put the crown around your head to measure the size the crown should be.  Cut the paper to the right size, leaving enough space to overlap and staple it together, after decorating.

Decorate the crown with glue and buttons, yarn, sequins, markers or crayons, macaroni, rice, beans, or anything around your house.

After the glue dries, staple the two sides together and wear.  This crown can remind you that you are a child of God.

Mrs. Mary
(Mary Hamrick)

In the front of your Bible, you will find a Table of Contents that lists each book of the Bible.   The Bible is divided into “Books”.  Each book will have chapters and verses.  For example, when you see Matthew 6:9, Matthew is the “book”, 6 is the “chapter”, and 9 is the “verse”.   The chapter number is characterized by a BIG numeral, and the verse will be the smaller numeral.  The Bible is divided into two sections - the Old Testament and the New Testament.
