"Feeding
Your Enemies"
Preparation:
Romans 12:20 “If your
enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink.”
**With whom are you
presently in actual conflict or inner turmoil? Ask the Lord in a time of
prayer for wisdom in this relationship. During your quiet time, describe
your relationship and the problem as you see it. Perhaps journal
your thoughts and insights on what the Lord reveals to you as your relationship
grows with your enemy.
Ingredients:
Why should I feed
my enemy?
1.) Because God said
so! See the aforementioned verse in
Romans 12.
2.) It is a commandment.
Matthew 5: 43-44 reveals that we should not only love our neighbors, but
we should love our enemies as well.
“You have heard that
it was said, ‘Love your neighbor, and hate your enemy. But I tell you:
Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be
sons of your Father in heaven.’”
3.) Your reward will
be great. We may not see the benefit of killing our enemies with
kindness, but our Father in heaven knows our hearts and becomes pleased
as a result of our obedience and desire to pursue those who hurt you or
have hurt you in the past.
How and with what do
I feed my enemies?
1.) By means of blessings…

gifts and use them to encourage and edify your enemy. To request a Spiritual

2.) With Love…In Luke
6:27-28, Jesus tells us directly to “Love your enemies, do good to those
who hate you, bless those who mistreat you.
